Influences: Turntablism, hot verbalists, funk, electronics and all kinds of everything.People we are feelin : Public Enemy, Melle Mel and the assorted Grandmaster Flashes, Cash Money, ALL of Motown, Grandmaster Flash, Melle Mel, Wu Tang Clan, Mos Def, E40, the Chemical Brothers, Heavenly Social Era, Lyricist Lounge, MC Pitman (kinda), 50 Cent, A Tribe Called Quest, Arrested Development,Sly and the Family Stone, Funkadelic + Parliament, The Beastie Boys, Busta Rhymes, Q-Bert, Tricky, Dirty Diggers, Skinnyman, Scratch Perverts, Dizzy Rascal, Kano, Asian Dub Foundation, Roots Manuva, Ragga Twins, Estelle.....................................strong times for UK hip hop at the moment...........alot of the big names in the US are looking like fucking cartoons and there seems to be no content in their stuff unless it's been past the K-Mart 'board'......wise the fuck up.
Sounds Like: Elemental veers from straight ahead grimy minamilist hiphop to more jazzy jams. All mixes and jams are from improvs done with the verbalist. Improv is a big thing with us and we like to talk of jazz and early hip hop feats of derring do with only a microphone, a tempo and a producer saying ' get cracking - we're recording. We also like stressing rappers to write something on the spot...our favourties can pull this off....no 10 days with the breakbeats in advance round our house...It's gotta be hittin' 'n' spittin from the get go...
