My name is JUSSARA (joo-sah-rah) and is an indiginous, brazilian name representing a female rain-forest warrior. I was born in the region called the Amazon and raised in that environment until seven years old, when my parents decided to move to the city so I could study. I now live in the U.S with my husband/producer/musician Steve.
I am proud of my amazon heritage and humble upbringing. I dont descriminate sex, age, race, nor religion. My native country and my ancestors have shaped my beliefs, and God made me what I am. Ive been in the U.S for five years, and I miss the green of the rain-forest, the real rivers, the wetlands, the pure air, and the different animals. Ive always sung in the forest and whistled with the birds. Years later, destiny would bring me to MySpace to share my music with a wider audience. Im not trying to make money or get recognition. This project is very personal for me. I hope you enjoy it and feel the energy of the Amazonia as you listen.
