Ted Walsh has a day job but feels truly blessed to be able to play with great people in two groups: Hall Pass and Mad Daddy.The guys from Hall Pass bring different musical backgrounds and experiences to the band--three from jazz, one from rock, one from folk and blues. Although the original idea was ’just for fun’ nearly three years together have tightened up the sound and broadened the repertoire considerably. The motto is "Jazz. Blues. Whatever." No rules about what kind of music is Hall Pass music. If they like it, they play it. Originals and selections by artists as diverse as Miles Davis, Neil Young, Bob Marley, Herbie Hancock, Santana, and Hank Williams. Hall Pass also includes Mike Mangini on drums, Josh Taylor on bass, Peter McWain on sax, and Bob McMahon on trumpet. Saxophonist Chuck Leo is an occasional member, as is multi-instrumentalist Rick Huyge.Mad Daddy is Ted, his daughter Maddy Walsh, and guitarist/singer Mike Suave. She is a force of nature.
