South Highway 13 Band

About Me

Highway 13 Band is a genuine classic rock band, playing classic rock music the way it was meant to be played. Our show features music, primarily Rock & Roll of the 60's but ranging from the 50's to the late 70's. Our goal is to keep you dancing all night long, and to make you turn your head and say, wow, I haven't heard that song in years. The band members individually and collectively are dedicated to bringing their respective talents and their love of "classic rock" to the stage each and every time they perform and can always be counted on to deliver an exciting collection of classic rock 'n' roll for your listening and dancing pleasure. The members of Highway 13 have been involved in the music industry for many years. Terry and Joe began playing together in the early 60's on HIGHWAY 13 in Lampe, Mo., when they formed a band with life long friend, David Newman. Their gigs consisted of High School Dances and local venues but as they ventured out and went their separate ways those simple beginnings would develop into impressive lifelong careers. Terry Garrison, our lead guitarist, graduated from Blue Eye High School in 1967 and went on to The Collage of the Ozarks in Branson, Missouri. After college Terry, went to work in the music and movie industry. He has been associated with major entertainers and traveled worldwide. Terry has worked with gospel groups including the legendary Dottie Rambo, as well as contemporary artists including, Jennie Pruitt and Pop Icon Dolly Parton, from, 1976 until 1988. Terry has also worked personally with numerous actors including, Mel Gibson & Sissy Spassick-The River, Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds - Best Little Whorehouse in Texas & Steel Magnolias , Scott Glen - My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys, filmed in Guthrie, Oklahoma, and others.
