Since his move to Los Angeles from being an in demand percussionist in Texas, Michael Duffy has emerged as one of the top percussionists on the West Coast. His knowledge, musicality, finesse, and consistency as a player has allowed him to become a unique and highly sought after studio and live musician.
Michael’s proficiency in a variety of musical styles has allowed him to share the stage with artists such as: Ozomatli, Poncho Sanchez, Airto Moreira, Rumbankete, Johnny Polonco, Yari More, Ricardo Lemvo and Makina Loca, Joan Sebastian, Chalo Eduardo and Samba Nova, Suzie Hanson Latin Jazz Band, Benise, Cano Estremera, Mayalo Ruiz, Jose Alberto “El Canario,†Emil Richards, Andy Vargas (Santana), Swamp Funkester Mingo Fishtrap, Lucky 7, The Whitebred Brass Band, Asdru Sierra, Singer Songwriter Bob Schinder, The Groove Line Horns, Marco Antonio Solis, Christian Castro, Vicente Fernandez, Latin Rockers Vallejo, Abel Talamantes (Kumbia Kings), Tejano artist Estani, African Soukous band Ashe', Eletronica group Bitter:Sweet and Oscar Hernandez’s Conga Brava.
Currently, Michael has been busy in the studio recording for Cumbia artist Pee Wee, Brissia and Electronic group Bitter:Sweet. He can also be found on tour with Bitter:Sweet, and Oscar Hernandez’s Conga Brava. Michael endorses Pearl Percussion, Vater drumsticks, Cympad cymbal pads, TRX Cymbals and Aquarian drumheads.
