and get their t-shirts!Brothers, ZINCK D. and JONNY mANbEEF (their real names!)... have always pretty much played in the same band together. They started out in the 80's when they were barely in their teens (that's their story and they're sticking to it!) Their first band, INTRUDERS, rehearsed in a small room at Fresno State University's Theta Chi frat house. No they weren't, nor ever have been, "frat boys." The place didn't cost a dime and the soda machine was stocked with ice-cold Lucky Lager beer. Plus... every once in awhile a hot Fresno State co-ed wandered into rehearsals.INTRUDERS was the top drawing act at local venues for quite a while. It wasn't unusual to see lines forming around the clubs and halls whenever the band played. "We used to stand on Blackstone (the local boulevard of broken dreams) while kids cruised up and down... We'd hand out like 10,000 discount flyers in about 15 minutes!" explains ZINCK... "We also took advice from David Lee Roth and would sneak into high schools in the dead of night and stuff the lockers with those flyers..."Eventually the band made it down to the world famous Sunset Strip in Hollywood and performed at such venues as the Roxy, Gazzarri's, Filthy McNasty's and the Central (now the Viper Room.) JONNY tells it like this, "I thought I was a rock star... We had made it, you know? Of course, we were playin' the 2 a.m. slot to 3 people mostly!" INTRUDERS released a self-entitled album. It can still be found in some used record bins around the country. In fact, ZINCK and JONNY received a letter once from a fan who found one somewhere in Mississippi!Upon the break-up of INTRUDERS the brothers quickly formed their new band, SEXX SINN. JONNY came up with name 'cuz he thought it'd cause a little controversy. At first some of the local newspapers refused to print it (this was Fresno... not L.A.) SEXX SINN started opening for national acts like BULLETBOYS (remember them?)... CINDERELLA (them too???)... Y&T (never got the recognition they deserved!) and PRETTY BOY FLOYD (hey, technically they were a national act!)After a couple of member changes ZINCK and JONNY saw that SEXX SINN was heading in a heavier direction. So they switched gears and named the band FEAR NO EVIL. The new line-up opened for the likes of WHITE ZOMBIE, TESTAMENT... and others. The boys also hooked up with Tesla and played around the U.S. on the TESLA REUNION tour. FEAR NO EVIL released a self-titled album which was engineered/produced by ALEX WOLTMAN (W.A.S.P., King Kobra, etc.) In fact, you can pick up the album for a nominal fee at http://cdbaby.com/cd/fearnoevil.ZINCK and JONNY took a break after the TESLA tours and didn't play a lick for about a year and a half. Then outta' the blue they started jammin' and drinkin' with their former SEXX SINN buds, STIFF MERCEDES and CUPCAKE JEFFRIES. At the very first practice they had the basis for nearly ten songs completed. Over the next few months the tunes were tweaked and fine tuned to the point where everyone was itching to play them live. The name CHOIRBOYS was suggested by STIFF after he saw the so-titled late 70's gangster movie (religion had nothing to do with it.) CHOIRBOYS began playin' around the Central Valley of California converting fans all along the way. As luck would have it, though, due to family/health concerns (Keystone Light is lethal!!!) CUPCAKE and STIFF left the band in July '05.Following their departure, ZINCK and JONNY decided that they didn't want to scrap the whole thing. So in came long time friends and former band-mates, ROLO DIABLO on bass and SEAN ALDERETTE on drums. ZINCK and JONNY kept a lot of the old Choirboys stuff... But, with ROLO and SEAN they rearranged most of the tunes to make them a lil' meaner... You know, puttin' a little strut in the stuff... A lil' stank on it! The new sound is really no suprise to folks who know the quartet's history. ROLO and SEAN previously played with ZINCK and JONNY in the aforementioned and very metal, FEAR NO EVIL. (And because ZINCK and JONNY have no damn pride at all... Don't forget to pick up the F.N.E. album at http://cdbaby.com/cd/fearnoevil.)With SUPERCHARGER the brothers also switched up things a bit. They changed spots... ZINCK taking over vocal duties and JONNY picking up the guitar. The tunes are raw, unpretentious and unrepentent (whatever the hell that means!) With ROLO and SEAN in the band everything got a lot edgier and more intense... The four buds follow in the time honored tradition of bands like the RAMONES, SOCIAL DISTORTION and, yes, even MOTORHEAD (props to Lemmy.) That's why ZINCK and JONNY appropriately changed the group's name to SUPERCHARGER.And the story continues...Myspace 2.0 Layouts - Myspace Graphics - Image Hosting
