To quote Wikipedia,'Stone Mountain is claimed by some ,to be the largest exposed Granite Monolith on Earth'.It is siuated in Georgia USA.It conjours images of a large solid ,heavy object.The same could be said of the Ballina,NSW,Australia based 4 piece band,who after many years of playing in various bands in the area ,formed to create something a little different .I give you 'Stone Mountain".As all bands S.M has their influences.From straight out metal ,to the Blues influence of Henrix.Even some Motorhead & Helmet are in the brew.At the same time they are developing a sound of their own,which has vocals that spit agression one minute & soar the next.Chunky Guitar ,with riffs you remember long after the Gig's over.And to top it off ,a heavy ,deep bottom end that gels the whole experience. These guys are the real deal...

Influences: The four members of stone mountain,GRANT(GUITAR),LUKE(BASS),BRETT(VOCALS),WADE(DRUMS), all have a common love of good rock, stoner rock, metal or anything heavy. bands like Mastodon,orange goblin,the sword, monster magnet,tumbleweed,metalica,acdc,fort,kyuss,black sabbath,disturbed,kiss,shihad,nirvana,foo fighters,pantera,down, helmet,motorhead,hermano,machine head,nine inch nails,clutch, brant bjork,stones, velvet revolver,qotsa,nick cave,iggy pop, stone temple pilots,white zombie,hendrix,danzig, zak wild,soundgarden, rage,audioslave,ect,ect.
