Don't hate. Appreciate.

About Me

I write. I cook. I live in LA. I have invisible Scotch tape on my desk. And a gluestick. And an upside-down ceramic sumo wrestler pen holder. It rocks.

My Interests

Writing, music, eating, sleeping, family, friends, cooking, traveling, writing, Netflix, etc.

I'd like to meet:

Someone with a cooler ceramic pen holder than my sumo wrestler. I dare ya.

David Haselhoff, because he says "Don't hassle the Hoff" and he is being serious. It's kind of rad.

My dad

I bought a necklace today for my mom (her birthday is on Valentine's Day). It's delicate and pretty, much like she is. The chain, however, is a bit too long for my mother's tiny frame. But no wor...

Ray LaMontagne

I think Ray LaMontagne is seriously one of the most talented and poetic singer/songwriters of my generation. It's rare that a song stops me dead in my tracks when I hear it, but every single one of hi...

Attack!

I don't get why some people act like being defensive is a bad thing, especially when he/she is causing the reaction. Generally speaking, when a person or animal is being attacked, it's the natural, ra...

In response to "Rain Clouds"

My stomach sank when I read the poem you wrote for me. After 8 years, you acknowledged the Truth Your reflections like the photographs you take Beautiful, complex, intensely thoughtful. With your...

New Year's

I spent New Year's weekend in Santa Cruz, CA. I hadn't been back in nearly 7 years, so it was cool being back - even if it was only for a few days. I'd forgotten how absolutely beautiful SC is. Those...

T-shirts I saw today

I was walking around in Pasadena today, and saw a young girl - probably 13 at the most - with a t-shirt that said, "Most Likely to Date Bad Boys." She was with her mom. A few minutes later, I saw anot...

Being positive...

...is difficult sometimes. Today was one of those days. But instead of writing about that, I should probably shift my focus onto something more productive. Perhaps to some observations of late: *My ho...

I guess I don't know everything

I'm going to come clean and admit that there are some words and phrases that I have been misusing for years. Some I learned about a few years ago, but others I've only VERY recently learned about. The...

Rainbow

Went to the Rainbow Bar & Grill last night after the Drills show (which was kind of awesome...similar to a swift, rock 'n roll kick to the groin of your soul, if you know what I mean), and it was ...

Funny ha ha

I think it's funny that some people consider themselves DJs because they load up an iPod with songs then press play at a party. But that's just me.
