Cadillac Holmes

About Me

Cadillac Bob Holmes was born in Cincinnati and traveled to Nashville after returning home from a stretch in the Army. He began singing and writing in the late sixties and continued to perform in the service. He was a member of a country rock band “Mobile Blue” that played in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. His first song that was recorded was in 1980, “I Feel Good (and I can’t help it) “ by the Bluegrass Cardinals. Along with friend and publisher Randall Hylton, Cadillac had songs cut by Marty Stuart, Curly Seckler, Larry Sparks, the Lonesome River Band, Gary Ferguson, Charlie Waller and Hylton himself. His song “Up and Down the Mountain” recorded by Continental Divide was on the Bluegrass charts for eleven months and he has been featured in Bluegrass Unlimited magazine. He also had his “Cadillac” song cut by Steve Earle, and with Paul Craft had songs cut by Sparks, Don Rigsby, Claire Lynch and Trisha Yearwood. He continues to perform and write; and some of his artwork from his ‘Postcards from the Blues’ series have been shown at the Santa Monica Art Museum. He has never written a song on paper and says “everything comes out of my head straight to the guitar just the way I walk and talk”
