YOU: Whether young, old, big, small, fat, thin, black/
white, You all have one thing in common. You are alive.
I'm here to spread the word about mental illness, things like depression, schizophrenia, anxiety and borderline personality disorder
These things ARE NOT un- common, Alot of people are dealing with these issues, Alot of people feel misunderstood and alone..
I know how this feels and I've been sent on a mission (not by god or some other lame excuse or 'calling' I just have this feeling inside of me that says, you are meant to be apart of this world, you are meant to struggle and scrub it out to help others.
I know for a fact that art can help heal a broken heart, or in my case, a broken mind.
And I hope that others like myself will jump on this opportunity to all collaborate together, to make something beautiful, something worth living for...
You are here for a reason, for a purpose. And if we all band together maybe we can make a difference in this world, no matter how small or minute..
I want to bring awareness to mental illness such as:
Depression, anxiety, bipolar, OCD, PTSD, Stress,
schizophrenia, psychosis, panic attacks, anger, borderline
personality disorder and many other mental health problems/ issues. (If I've left something out, LET ME KNOW!!)
I want to raise awareness and show you all mental illness
is NOT uncommon and you can get help.
(if that's what you want) People DO NOT snap out of it. It doesn't work like that.
It takes time, patience and love from family & friends.
If you or someone you know is silently suffering,
know that you are NOT ALONE. Seek help from a professional or call a helpline.
Or at least talk to a friend/ parent or even me.
I've been through alot of fucked up shit, but I guess that's why I'm here today, to help anyone who might be goin through similar shit...
It all takes TIME.
I feel the Australian mental health system can be REALLY
poor at times and want to build a way to raise funds
(such as auctions, benefit gigs, compilation CD's and other events)
to donate to relevant charities and associations that help
THE PEOPLE THAT REALLY NEED IT.
My intent is to make art works and photography and
hopefully with the help of YOU,
have some art works made especially for this Project.
[Any artists/ musicians who may be willing to donate to us
some of their works, will be promoted and MUCH APPRECIATED]
I am a vocalist, trained for 7 years. I also suffer from
BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER.
When I was first diagnosed, it all finally made sense. But still to this day I am searching for myself. Life can be tough, but I ain't complaining.
I went down the hard path, but I'm still here.
I am alive and don't intend to change that.
I take meds every day and see a counsellor and
psychiatrist twice a month.
I have a caring mother and boyfriend who help me when times get rough.
I am very lucky to have these people in my life.
I'm always on the lookout for people to collaborate with
musically and artistically and will search forever for my
dream band that WILL CONQUER THE WORLD :P
My vocal style varies through death metal,
blood boiling screams to classical/
operatic haunting goth vox, to pure punk n roll.
I am also featuring my own promo photography,
for the work I have done with local bands
and local models, which in the future I am hoping
will all tie in somehow with Project X
(Possibly an exhibition of some sort)
I am currently using film photography
(Minolta Dynax 800si)
