Michal Zak, musician (wooden flutes, shawms, clarinet).  "After several years of traveling around the world, playing concerts all over the Europe, Asia, North Africa and the United States, talking to people as well as learning their tunes I have finally got to Polish village where I discovered my new-old language. At the moment I work for preserving cultural heritage of the Polish village by learning and recording tunes of fiddlers, pipers and singers.    Meanwhile I compose, perform and record music for silent films, theatre plays, I carry on flute workshops, play concerts and dance events. I'm a prizewinner of several Polish contests for best ethno album (Lautari "Azaran" ; Janusz Prusinowski Trio "Mazurki"), best group or creation (Niedzwiecki/Zak/Kierzkowski/Pulcyn ; Duo Zak/Szyszkowski). I contibute to Polish National Radio as well as Polish National Theatre. Music is my first language. I'm looking for perfect dialogue by playing traditional, improvised, minimal, jazz and classical music. It can be either rough dance music with aged men in a village or Chopin's works in duet with my wife's piano...."..
