www.myspaceeditor.itAntonio RugoloAntonio was born in Taranto in 1972 and at just twelve years of age won his first competition in Livorno, the first in a long series of successes and victories in the major music competitions in Italy.------------------------------------------- In 1994 he obtained a first class diploma under Pino Forresu and went on to attend master classes with Alirio Diaz. Since 1996 he has been engaged in advanced studies under Fédèric Zigante at the “Fondation CIEM Mozart” in Lausanne. That same year, he won second prize at the Via Reggio international guitar competition and first prize at the “Nicola Fago” competition in Taranto. Each year from 1997-2001 he was awarded the diploma of merit under Oscar Ghiglia at the Accademia Ghigiana di Siena. May 1998 saw his debut with the Milan Catholic University Symphony Orchestra, with Concerto Op. 99 by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. In 2000 he won second prize in the 25th Gargniano International Guitar Competition and first prize at the Isernia International Guitar Competition, the “Premio Citte dei Sanniti”. In September 2001 he won first prize at the Savona International Guitar Competition, “Omaggio a Joaquin Rodrigo".---------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------2004 saw Antonio Rugolo’s debut solo album, the CD “Guitarreo”. Published by Stradivarius, “Guitarreo” met with unanimous praise from the international critics: ...seldom has it sounded so poetic, and I liked it very much (C. He also plays in duos with his wife flautist Nicoletta Di Sabato, together with her 2006 he performed the World Premier of the Sonatina Lied n°3 by Angelo Gilardino, and with the Santórsola Guitar Quartet with which in 2007, again from Angelo Gilardino, he played the Sinfonietta per Quattro Chitarre recently composed “Feste Lontane”.--------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------In 2007 he degrees the 2nd level Accademy diploma with maximum votation 110 e Lode at the Conservatorio di Musica “Giuseppe Tartini” of Trieste.His guitar playing also features on the CD “L’ultimo bivio” published by RAI Trade in 2006. Antonio Rugolo’s recordings have been broadcast on numerous occasions on Italian, European and Canadian networks (RAI Radio3, RAI Filodiffusione, Sveriges Radio P2 etc.).------------------------------------------------------ ----- ------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------In 2007 again the Stradivarius will publish a new CD entirely dedicated to the guitar music of the Italian-Uruguayan composer Guido Santórsola which will contain the first recording of the "Concerto a Cinque" played along with the string quartet Paul Klee.------------------------------------------------------- ------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------Also this work receives words of praise from the specialized press, just as Amadeus, Repubblica; su “Il Fronimo” Marco Riboni scrive: Rugolo sfoggia una interpretazione eccellente… estremamente rigoroso e preciso, espressivo e suadente, impeccabile tecnicamente… Insomma siamo in presenza di un disco importante che merita di essere ascoltato.www.antoniorugolo.com
