Thank you so much for visiting our site. My name is Ron Gouge and I am a Christian and I love the Lord Jesus Christ. I am passionate about good music of all kinds (as you can tell by my wide choice of friends). I was born and grew up in the awesome, picturesque Appalachain Mountains of East Tennessee. For many years I have lived in the Atlanta, Georgia area, USA. I am a songwriter and musician and I have my own recording studio. I really enjoy writing all kinds of music. I work with several talented singers, songwriters, musicians, producers, arrangers, recording engineers, and music publishers. One purpose of this site is to meet and network with other talented songwriters, musicians and recording artists, etc. and just ordinary folks who have similar musical tastes. Gouge Music is not so much about me or my music but about great music in general and my many fine friends all over the world who share in our love for music. I love good music of all descriptions from the simple plantive melodies of folk and bluegrass, the authentic bayou, Cajun and "hillbilly" music, sing-a-long tunes, real country music, church hymns and southern gospel I grew up on and our grandparents and parents embraced. As a child I really enjoyed listening to the Grand Old Opry on Saturday nights and developed deep roots in authentic country music. As a young man I played lead and rythm guitar in my own rock band. I later learned to love rockabilly, country rock, southern rock, outlaw music, Texas swing, Bakersfield sound, rock and roll, doo wop, R&B, soul, blues, British invasion, pop, latin, light jazz, celtic, orchestra, big band, instrumental, symphonies and classical music. I strongly believe that there is good and bad music in all genres and with the advent of the internet, MySpace, and other great music sites it is now possible to be very selective and listen to wide varieties of outstanding music ( for free) to suit your different moods with just a few mouse clicks. Can you beat that? Praise the Lord!. Thank God for modern technology. Lastly and most importantly, this site is dedicated to our great God who gave humanity the beautiful gift of music and to all of the great songwriters, singers, musicians, arrangers, producers, engineers, publishers, and everyone else, both past and present who had a part in giving us such joy with their fine music. "Without a song...", life on this planet would be a dark cold desolate existence, but I thank God that everyday He has put a new song in my heart. As the Psalmist, has said, "Let everything that hath breath, praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord."Regardless of its genre, great music is timeless and a joy that will last forever. Hallelujah!
