Whitelight's Director, Yvette White, has been in the Management game for ten years. She began her career developing and managing Illana. By the age of 20, Illana had strutted her stuff with Renee Geyer, Jimmy Little, Tex Perkins, Killing Heidi and had performed live to air on Triple J and ABC TV. With Recording and Publishing contracts on offer Yvette bravely advised the young singer/songwriter to go and experience life and come back when ready! During that time Yvette had the pleasure in working with Michelle Serret, best known as 'the singer from Dancing with the Stars'. With the task of shopping Michelle’s demo, Yvette liaised directly with Denis Handlin (Sony) who sent an A&R rep to Michelle’s showcase (EMI reps also attended). Susie Ahern, signed to ABC/Universal at the time, approached Yvette to get some assistance with her solo career. Having treaded the boards with Ray Charles, Kylie Minogue, John Farnham, Diesel and Renee Geyer, and securing television roles as the vocal coach on It Takes Two, Australian Idol and X Factor, Susie (the 'singer's singer') felt the timing was right to record and release her next album as an independent artist - a 2008 release date is expected for 'Hurry Up and Wait’. Award winning Singer/Songwriter Steve Romig shot Yvette an email asking if she was interested in pushing his career by securing live performances and distribution deals etc. One of Steve's immediate goals was to play at The Evelyn, Yvette took up the mission and returned with an April 2008 residency! New York Jazz Trumpeter and Singer, Nate Birkey, also made contact with Yvette expressing interest in touring Australia – she responded with confirmation that Mistaken Identity (featuring the much respected Malcolm Serdergreen, Steve Sedergreen, Nick Heywood and Ted Vining) would form his Australian line up for a 2009 tour scheduled for early next year (dates TBC). In late 2007 Illana returned and Yvette decided to take up where they left off and directed Illana into Sing Sing recording studios to record with ARIA award winning Producer Paul McKercher. The experience was so positive that Yvette is rumoured to be giving serious consideration to recording a full length album....the rest you’ll just have to wait for. ************************************************************
**Aside from managing acts Yvette co-ordinated the filming and spent time behind the 'on stage' camera with Channel 31's live music program Asylum (she's shot Jen Cloher at the Corner Hotel, Legends of Motorsport at the East Brunswick Hotel, Tegan + Sara live at an IN STORE gig, amongst others) and has written for Street Press (interviews include Tegan & Sara, Wendy Rule, Carus and the True Believers, Vesna from Big Brother, etc). ************************************************************
**Yvette has also acquired repeat business from national and multi-national companies in 2006, 2007 and 2008 to event manage their functions at venues such as The Sebel - Albert Park, Crown Casino's Palladium etc. ************************************************************
