He has played venues large and small throughout the southwest as well as the east coast and Europe. After being active in the San Diego music scene in the early 90's playing Rock, Blues, and Original music, Jon spent several years studying jazz guitar and composition, and has spent recent years playing with many busy musical acts in Southern California including Jump Jones (Swing/Jump), Big Rig Deluxe (Country/Rock/Rockabilly), Smokestaxx (Soul/Funk/R+B), The San Diego Jazz Duo, The Cash Kings Johnny Cash Tribute, The Quorum Jazz Group, Sambajazz, the Backwater Blues Band, the Circuit Breakers Blues Band, the Paul Ingram Jazz Quintet, guest dates as the guitarist for the great Hot Rod Lincoln rockabilly band, as well as lots of dates under his own name.Jon played guitar on the Jump Jones disk "Snake Oil Remedies for the Modern Condition" (2002), Big Rig Deluxe Semi-Garage band (2005), "Cash Kings 7" (2007), and had the privilege to record on two tracks on the upcoming steel guitar album from the legendary SoCal guitarist Robin Henkel. Jon is in the midst of recording guitar-oriented tracks for the fun of it (and to put on this site,) and has just completed work on new recordings for the R+B group Smokestaxx, which Jon has led for three years, serving as the band's guitarist, horn arranger, and as one of two principal vocalists. Most recently, Jon has joined San Diego's Anthology Club House Band as guitarist for their great Motown tribute shows!
