Well... I started Roof Rock Records out of necessity. Labels don't have the desire to put out innovative/ quality music, because today's profit margins are considerably slim; with digital distribution and shared music files, they feel obligated to put out the "tried and tested" music we've all heard before to make shareholders happy... Basically they don't ain't gonna risk shit! Here at Roof Rock Records, we focus on music we want to hear, then build songs to fill voids in our own record collections. The Whiskey Avengers and Language Arts Crew are two bands that I am a part of, therefore, they became the core of the label, and its initial vehicle for success. Roof Rock Records, along with its partners collectively, is basically an easy way for the local scene to make quality music, play tight shows, and put some dollars in the hands of those talented starving musicians...
