Life has not been a straight path for me. My family was a little off beat amazing characters, My Dad a comedy script Writer, my Mum a model. My sister went into publishing, My brother a very talented musician from aged 5 became half of an pop duo in the 80's and went on to carve out a successful career as a writer and producer. I on the other hand, flunked out of School,flunked out of drama school and stumbed (mostly out of it) through my teens and early 20's. I started off as a singer with Mari Wilson and the Wilsations in the early 80's, went on to release a solo pop single that disapeared without a trace, became half of a duet called, And Indians and generaly self destructed with substances. I had wanted to act since I was 12 and eventully moved over via a completly mad show with the wonderfull John Otway. I did several years of hard graft
appearing in shows on the fringe in London and Edinburgh. I also began to work in TV and Film, The Bill, Bergerac and a cute little film called Queen Sacrifice. I seemed to corner the market in troubled punky nutters and loved the work. Some where in the middle of all that I sobered up. After 10 years of auditions, waitressing and not enough work, I decided I ought to get an education. I only intended to leave for a while, but have never gone back. I did a diploma in counselling and psychotherapy and worked for many years with people with substance misuse problems in rehabs, prisons and with the homeless. I now work in local government at a srtategic level trying to make sure that the local population has the right services to meet these problems. I still have strong creative drive, I paint and am at the momemnt trying to write my first book. I hope some of my Dad's talent has been passed on to me. I have the most Beautiful son and a lovely chocolate labrador, what more could I want, I am self supporting and want what I have rather than have what I want. I am intersted in working in humanitarian aid and love to read, walk, travel, paint, write, hang out with friends and feel the sun on my face.
