About Me

Gerald Emerick has been involved in many areas of show business, as musician, actor, writer, and director. He started out as a punk/new wave rocker playing at CBGBs on NYC's Lower Eastside in the band Quincy with his high school chums from New Jersey in the late 70s. (Other members included Brian and Steve Butler, Wally Smith, and Bob Holden). They recorded a single called "Can't Live In A Dream" on CBGB Records then soon signed with Columbia Records in the biggest deal ever for a new band to that time and released a self titled debut album. After garnering substantial radio airplay and while on national tour, the band was sued by Quincy Jones bringing all momentum to a screeching halt. Their second record was called "Don't Say No" under the band's new name Lulu Temple. Heard of them? After the Columbia Records debacle, Emerick moved to New York City and formed the PTL Sound Club creating satirical "performance" alternative music while dressing as priests on stage with the late Stephen Keith. This led to various acting endevours and eventually roles in "Being John Malkovich" "Pleasantville" among others. This year, Emerick will be seen in the upcoming movie "The Eye" with Jessica Alba and "Synecdoche, NY" with Phillip Seymour Hoffman, written and directed by Charlie Kaufman. Emerick wrote three new songs for the upcoming film "Otis E." written and directed by Jeffrey Phillips. Emerick also wrote seven songs for "Walk Hard" starring John C. Reilly (none were used). He is currently developing a series for television about a band based on his experience.
