VISIT THE OFFICIAL SLOAN*LONGWAY WEBSITE
Sloan was founded to preserve and present Flint and Genesee County's history, including the evolution of the automobile and the industry it spawned. Longway's purpose was to present primarily space, science, and astronomy programs.
Over the years, these two organizations discovered a common thread in their commitment to creativity, which sparks curiosity and fuels discovery and innovation. Whether it's astronomy, ecology or biology, the Underground Railroad, the UAW or underwater treasure, the world is full of things to explore - and Sloan and Longway have provided our community with a place to do it.
Today, Sloan Museum, including Buick Gallery and Longway Planetarium, honor their heritage while finding new and fresh way to look at our present and future, as a communiuty and as a society. Science, history, and technology are combined, allowing you and old alike to experience and celebrate how these disciplines make a difference in our lives each and every day.
