Johnny N The PoBoys

One night at the old Atlantic Lounge in Revere after plenty of drinks ........Peter Hunt (sound tech at the time) came up to our table saying that a couple bands didn't show up (stormy) and looking to jam . He was going to play guitar and needed a bass player.........we all looking at Fonz and he agreed, he asked for a drummer and they all looked at Chris and he agreed but Johnny said he was singing and we all agreed, I mean who wouldn't. After about 7 songs it was time for the headliner, we went back stage (well the room that we called back stage) with a cold drink in our hand laughing when a girl knocked on the door asking what the name of our band was. Fonz turned and said to the girl well that's Johnny and we are poor with a laugh! Well that was the start of Johnny N The PoBoys... Sometime later a kid that we knew could play guitar wanted to show up on open mic nights there but he was to young to get in ........... no problem a knock on the back door and we shuffled him in and up on stage and that was the missing piece of the puzzle, Robbie. Not long after that the drummer Chris left and Gary became the next drummer and along came Scotty. Now here is where it gets confusing and I"ll try to get it right.............Gary left and Chris came back, then Gary came back and there were 2 drummers, again Gary left and so did Fonz(Billy took over on bass) and years later Chris left and along came Troy. Everbody with me so far? Troy left, Scotty was in and out and Chris was back. Then Chris left for his original band with jimma on drums and Jimmy on bass. Through out the years there was more then enough talent that went into the Poboys and Johnny knew how to do that. He always said he wanted one big band behind him and thats what we tried to do each and every time we hit the stage. My good friend your always missed by us!
