I was born and raised in upstate New York. From what I am told, I was no child prodigy - "couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket" as a young child - but I loved music and refused to not sing constantly. My first solo wasn’t until 6th grade and from the moment I walked on stage I knew that was where I wanted to be. I was in multiple musicals though out high school and was classically trained at Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, New York. After spending a summer at an opera program in Italy, I planned on becoming the next Cecilia Bartoli. Life has taken a different course though and I am very much enjoying the journey.
I moved to Austin, Texas in 1996 and began acting and singing with various theater companies in town. Although I had played with the idea of writing music before, the serious bug to do it didn’t hit until 2005. Since I am not a proficient instrumentalist, assistance was needed with this new endeavor. From only a scratch track of the lyrics and melody of "Walk Away", Troy Lee Warden/ Dima Records created the accompaniment and produced it.
I continue to be inspired to write music and began this site as a way to push myself to continue to create, to collaborate with other artists, and to share what I have already produced. In this digital age it is so easy to put your art into the world and, while I don’t necessarily expect to ever become a household name, I can’t help but take the opportunity share my creations with anyone interested. It is my hope that you enjoy it and pass it along if you do. Stay tuned for more in 2008.
