About Me

Inn The Cold
Since the UK smoking ban was introduced,1000 pubs have closed.
Pubs that were in trouble before the smoking ban have long since closed their doors. The pubs closing now were profitablebefore the smoking ban-50 a week are now closing. (BII and the publican)
The Daily Mirror report 600000 people have stopped going to bingo halls,as many as 50% will close in the next two years.
Every day,the local news feeds are full of pub closures and the economic and social effect this is having-our National pressignores this and claims the smoking ban is a success.
14 million smokers have been forced outdoors in all weathers-landlords have been given no choice as to how to run their ownbusiness.
Many European bans have exemptions for smaller bars who don't serve food, many Countries allow indor smoking rooms, away fromthe bar area-this middle ground would save many of our pubs closing, save jobs and keep our pub heritage alive.
Inn The Cold is a 90 day,1000 pub tour to highlight the plight of our licensed trade and to hopefully capture media coverageof the real effects and damage the smoking ban is causing.
Inn The Cold-1000 pubs,90 days
Lets set the record straight first of all. We think the UK smoking ban was badly thought out and badly implemented. 13 million smokers in the UK and many of them visit pubs/clubs and bingo halls.
We do not want to turn the clock back to the old days BUT We do want indoor provisions for smokers:
Indoor smoking rooms
Exenptions for small one bar wet led pubs with no gardens
Private clubs be allowed to implement their own smoking policy

90 day,1000 pub UK tour-is the smoking ban killing our pub trade and closing our pubs/clubs and bingo halls?
Can you help?
Inn The Cold
We know its going to be a very difficult time for pubs clubs and bingo halls in 2008
We want to build a massive Lincolnshire Myspace so we can support our licensed trade and give a big shout out for pubs, clubs and bingo halls who need more custom.
We do want to change this puritanical, nasty and spiteful ban BUT we don't want our pubs to close.
