As a little girl I already used my jump rope as a mic...
I grew up singing myself asleep every night, and not counting sheeps, but beats!
I have a classical ballet education, for about 20 years I have worn those little pink shoes and so got to know the life on stage very well...
But life has his twists, I landed in California U.S.A. where I lived for a few years and met a wonderful woman who discovered my voice and told me how to use it!
Since then I enjoy every minute that I can sing...
Writing lyrics is also one of my favorite ways to pass time and put down my emotions on paper.
But be not mistaken, I'm also one hell of a party girl!...
MY CURRENT AND GREAT VOCAL COACH: NADIA MAMPAEY.
ABOUT MY BANDS:
- EPSYLON-
During the 'cold' winter months of 2006 Yves V. decided to drop all his current projects to finally start the band he always wanted.
Yves and I then started writing the songs for the band.
A demo followed by an E.P. has been recorded during June 2006.
In december 2007, Sylvie and Yves part ways with their first creation in order to successfully continue the musical vision and direction they had in mind when starting their collaboration mid 2006.
After the split, a little break was in order to spend some time reflecting on the past year along with preparing for the next musical year...
We then renamed our project, "EPSYLON".
The goal remained unchanged, create power/melodic metal enriched with powerful female vocals and choirs.
However, this time around and for the time being, the choice was made to work with session musicians in order to complete the first full album.
Along with brand new tracks, our older songs have been rearranged and re-recorded for this album.
We are very happy to announce that our debut album "THE GIFT" will be available on the 27th of december!

-EX-RATED-
The Ex-RatedBrought together by myself during the summer of 2006, this belgian five piece band (six if you add the mental coach) set out to create something without boundaries, taboos, non-alcoholics or stress.
They formed "The Ex-Rated", a coverband with no musical boundaries.
Since each member has a completely different musical background and interest, they set out to combine all these various elements into their covers, to achieve a fresh new sound while staying true to the vibe and power of the original tracks.
This way, for example, a seemingly simple popsong could be translated into a new version filled with punky drums "Geert Vermeir", funky basses "Luc Vandesande", rocking rhythm guitars, shredding solos "yves Vermeerch, lead and Jan Stevens, rythm guitar and to top it off, rockish/countryish/gothicish/bluesyish vocals, myself...

The band focuses on songs from various artists, from various time periods and from various genres while staying away from songs that have been covered a million times before. There are simply too much 'instant classics' out there to keep focusing on the already 'too well' known ones.
Recently they decided to start writing their own material next to the covers. To take what they learned from eachother and pour it into a selfmade soup felt like the most logical next step!
For the moment, the band has just recorded a quick demo containing their first original material (incl." Lived In And Loved") and will soon move on to professionally record all their current songs.
'The Ex-Rated' are mainly a live band, so also in 2008, they will focus on booking gigs and ravaging as much stages as humanly possible! (costs of stage repairs are automatically deducted from booking fees)For more info or bookings, feel free to send a mail to this account or to "
