Welcome/Greetings/Blessings Of BIG Love to You/All. Here's a bit of background history about Reuben Da Silva. Born in London, South Of The River. Brought Up On South Coast UK. He has been 'Busy Breaking his Neck To Boom Beats' from as far back as he can remember.He would describe himself as 'An Addict Of Good Music in Vinyl Junkie Rehab'! Raised from a very early age on a Healthy & Widely Varied Musical Diet including - Original 40s/50s Boogie, Jump Jazz, Swing, Gospel, Rhythm & Blues, Doo-Wop, 60s Soul, 70s Funk, Hip Hop, Jamaican - Ska, Rock Steady, Reggae & Dub, including -Studio One, Treasure Isle, Blue Beat, Roots, Dance Hall & Lovers Rock.
He became Lead Singer with a local, multi-Cultural Reggae Band called 'One Drop' in 1982/3 while still in his teens. Gigging all over the UK/Wales & supporting Headline Jamaican Acts such as, The Gladiators, Culture, Barrington Levy(twice)& Winston Reedy.
At the same time he joined 'King Tafari Love Muzic' a local Reggae Sound System, based in Brighton on the UKs South Coast. Being promoted from 'Box Bwoy'(Road Crew), to the position of Selector & Operator. Them played Dances & Sound Clashes all over the UK. He voiced many Dub Plate Specials for 'King Tafari' firstly at Fashion Records - A Class Studio/Dub Cutting facility down in the basement of Dub Vendors Record Shack at Clapham Junction. Voiced, Recorded, Mixed & Cut by the Legend That is now Globally Respected & Recognised as one of the UKs Top Producers/Studio Engineers the 'One & Only' Gussie P who, way back then was known as 'Gussie Prento'. Later voicing more at 'Music House' engineered by Wayne'G Spot'Marshall.
He voiced 'Specials' for Bristols 'Excaliber', Brixtons 'Reborn', Belgiums 'Survival' & 'Soul Syndicate' From Canada, most recently voicing Dubs for three Brighton based sets 'Kingz Hi-Fi', 'Aces', 'Unity Hi-Fi', 'Lion Roots' Sound from France, Portugals Sista Kato, Glasgows Mungos Hi-Fi.
Then came his debut 12" "Jah Jah Reign"/How Sweet It Is", followed by our debut CD Album 'Drum Song Introducing Silva-It's Time Showcase' in '99.(big up Mickey D)
After meeting Neville at his record shop in Brixton mid 2004, he re-voiced "It's Time" on Mafia & Fluxys 'Wall Paper' rhythm. Released on Nev's 'Vinyl Gems' label as a 7" to coincide with the launch of label/stable mate, Ambeliques "Make It With You" 7" 45 on the same rhythm in Dec 2004.
His most recent release is featured on a double A Side "When Jah Wrath"/Ras Zacharri, Inner Peace And Love by yours truly. Available with it's other cut "Stormy Weathers"/Jah Marnyah, on the Roots Garden Label. With forthcoming releases due on Brixton based sound, Markie Lyrics'RDK Hi-Fi'’s Universal RootsLabel, more in the pipeline for Roots Garden.
