Evy Llyan (pronounced Lih-yen) has the sweet voice of a coalminer's daughter who lives off elixirs comprised of rainbow soup and honey stix. An intuitive and self-taught guitarist, Llyan started playing at the age of 19. She'll play light as dew only to turn around and suprise you with choruses heavy as cast iron skillets falling in time with monsoon rain - her improvisation & vocal play are always at hand during live performances lending to a varied, enchanting and very rarely replicated repetoir.
Evy has been known to play bars and cafes, acoustic venues, festivals, barterfairs and sidewalks in various locations throughout space and time and as the Santa Barbara Independent states "Folk songstress Evy Llyan’s sound is a gentle and idyllic mixture of Jeff Buckley and Crosby, Stills & Nash, though altogether much more feminine..."
Llyan has shared the stage/opened for the likes of Dar Williams, The Danny Godinez Band, Charlie Sutton, The Donner Party, Oracle Shack, The Don'ts, Revolt & Virginia, Smoking Bill, The Chop, Jared Mees, Sleepy Sunshine, Milo Duke, Melissa Mitchell & Earthshine, Finn Riggins, King City Speedtrap, Shawn Zuke, The Magic Mirrors, Old Money, Love that Dress, The Sweatshop Band, Nikos, Millrace and many others. She has also shared the lineup at music festivals with all kinds of musicians and artists including Emmylou Harris, Hot Buttered Rum and New Monsoon.
Between 2003 & 2005 she formulated two self-released albums: 'Fathoms Deep' & 'Tomboy Way of Life.' In 2006 she created an EP entitled 'Ezmerelda' and recently (November of 2007) finished an acoustic lo-fi EP before launching on her WINTER TOUR with the phenomenon of a band known as FinN RigGins!!! --->
~ Above, a picture of Evy n the band Finn Riggins ~ Llyan and Riggin's gigs went incredibly over the course of their 3 week tour in December of 2007!!! Evy Llyan & FinN RigGins toured through the states of Washington, Oregon and California hitting nearly every hotspot (and then some) on I-5 from Olympia, WA clear down to Las Angeles, CA.
Spring 2008 (after living on a beach in Mexico for Jan/February writing music) was spent touring around the Northwest with fellow musician Milo Duke only to find herself in the Southwest and head over broken guitar strings in love with Tucson, Arizona which she now calls home! Currently evy is easing herself into the promising music scene of the SouthWest with her debut gig on July 12th 9:30pm at PLUSH in downtown Tucson, AZ.
