Denise

I am 52 years old. Most times I feel like that's a strange thing, I can't possibly have been around for over a half century, that would be my mother. After all, I feel good. I'm pretty young at heart AND I'm still waitin' for all that wisdom to kick in! Some days though, I definitely feel like I'm slipping towards the downside! I've been married to David and living in this fine Metropolis of a town, Porterville, since I was 20. I grew up mostly in Beautiful Downtown Burbank. I've worked as a laboratory clerk, a medical receptionist/assistant, teacher's assistant/reading tutor and for the last 7 years as a high school Guidance Office secretary. I enjoy my busy job and the people that I work with. I feel fortunate to have the job that I do but sometimes regret that doesn't leave me with the freedom of time to spend on other things, but if I had the time then I wouldn't have the money, so there ya go! David and I have raised 3 beautiful (inside and out) daughters; Angie, Jeanine and Chelsea, who have been the light and focus of our lives since forever. Angie is married to Mike and Jeanine to Jake, our sons-in-law that we love and are very proud of. (There's more than 1 way to get a son)! Chelsea is away at college, a really good student and a hard working but fun loving girl. I've got the 3 most beautiful, smart, sweet grand daughters possible (and no, I am NOT exaggerating, they really, really are). Mike and Angie's, Emmaline and Charlotte and Jake and Nean's, Shaylin. Unfortunately, my motherly and grandmotherly duties and pleasures are few and far between since 2/3 of my little flock not only left the nest but migrated far to the East. My Mom moved to Porterville when she retired so I'm happy to have her near. My brother and sister and their families live in southern California, not so very far away but I wish I could see them more. In my spare time I love to read and work on various little do-it-yourself projects around the house and yard. I am determined that someday I will be skillful at SOMETHING! I have discovered Yoga as my exercise of choice and I try to spend a little time every day doing it. Considering that I am the most stiff, unlimber person to have ever attempted a "down faced dog" I can't believe how much stronger and better I feel since starting with it. The meditative aspect suits me as well. My favorite place to be is in the mountains or near a river and so when I can, I enjoy walking or hiking in the Sequoias. Any extended spare time I have usually takes me on a roadtrip in the direction of my children or sometimes they come to me. I'd like to do more traveling in the future. .r{}
