Grinning Travesty

Devouring my angels and demons to keep the fires alive inside.

About Me

Heart Of Steel
Build a fire a thousand miles away to light my long way home
I ride a comet
My trail is long to stay
Silence is a heavy stone...
I fight the world and take all they can give
There are times my heart hangs low
Born to walk against the wind
Born to hear my name
No matter where I stand I'm alone
Stand and fight
Live by your heart
Always one more try
I'm not afraid to die
Stand and fight
Say what you feel
Born with a heart of steel

Burn the bridge behind you
Leave no retreat
There's only one way home
Those who laugh and crowd the path
And cut each other's throats
Will fall like melting snow
They'll watch us rise with fire in our eyes
They'll bow their heads
Their hearts will hang low
Then we'll laugh and they will kneel
And know this heart of steel was
Too hard to break
Too hard to hold
Stand and fight
Live by your heart
Always one more try
I'm not afraid to die
Stand and fight
Say what you feel
Born with a Heart of Steel

My Interests

I live for cheap thrills and easy laughs. Music. I love reading, the thing that has preserved me through more than anyone can ever know. Conversation is the highest art, but like any form of art, it must come from the heart. Good company.

I'd like to meet:

Someone who knows a path to Paradise, for this Perdition hounds me like a rabid dog, leading me constantly astray. Someone who can carry on with dignity and grace enough to make up for when I find my own lacking. All the wonderful, bombastic, precious and vivacious entities that make this Purgatory a decent spot to wait for the end of Eternity, if it ever comes. Pleased to meet you. Care for a drink?

Music:

Opeth, Manowar, Nightwish, Borknagar, Lacuna Coil, Arcturus, Angra, Symphony X, Megadeth, Steve Vai, anything Paul Weller, The Vandals, Stiff Little Fingers, Chicago, Journey, you get it yet?

Movies:

007 flicks, Outland, The Last Boyscout, 300, most anything Monty Python related (Yellowbeard, Jabberwocky, Meaning of Life, etc), Pan's Labyrinth, City of Lost Children, Evil Dead II/Army of Darkness, anything retardedly good, or maybe just retarded.

Television:

I like cartoons, they seem to have more intelligent content than anything else on TV right now. Billy & Mandy, Metalocalypse, ATHF, Family Guy, Futurama, Simpsons, Beavis &Butthead, TLC-History Channel-Discovery-etc.

Books:

The Wheel of Time Series by Robert Jordan, The Abhorsen Trilogy by Garth Nix, and The Diamond Age by Neil Stephenson. Also, Tim Allen's books "Don't Stand Too Close To A Naked Man" and "I'm Not Really Here". But perhaps above all, Maddox's book, "The Alphabet of Manliness". Beyond all other senses of the term, a true must read.

Heroes:

ManowaR, the kings of true metal! These guys inspire me to get up and go each day. Michael Savage, no one else speaks his mind like this man, and tells it how it is. Frank Zappa for being Frank Zappa. My penpal and dear friend Amydoll, for being there the once in a while when I need her, and for needing me once in a while. My sister Brianna, and Jeremy, the man who married her, for being so awesome and finally giving my nephews the great family they deserve.
