About Me

Tom is a guitar player, singer & songwriter from New Orleans, where he's lived and worked for 13 years. After taking piano lessons for 5 years, Tom picked up the guitar at age 14 in devotion to blues and rock n roll and played his first paying gig on a Fender Stratocaster at age 17 in his hometown of Little Rock, Arkansas before moving on to work with college bands in Virgina. In 1997, Tom moved to New Orleans in pursuit of jazz, funk, zydeco-blues, R&B and second-line street beats, not to mention boiled crawfish, seafood gumbo, jambalaya and muffalettas. He found all that and much more in South Louisiana and planted roots that have weathered countless storms. In 1998-99, Tom studied guitar under the great Hank Mackie in New Orleans and co-founded jazz-funk group idletime with Aaron Wilkinson (Honey Island Swamp Band, Eric Lindell). Idletime signed with Louisiana Red Hot Records and headlined major clubs in 18 states, opening for groups like the funky Meters, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Rebirth Brass Band, North Mississippi All-stars and more along the way.Since the Gulf Coast storms of 2005, Tom has played with different groups in the Crescent City and on the road, always with friends whom he respects personally as well as musically, people like Jenn Howard, Jesse Hiatt, the Jamesons, Sunpie Barnes & the Louisiana Sunspots, the Rockin’ Jake Band, Corey Henry & the Young Fellas, Clint Kaufmann & the Hungover Outlaws, Benny Dominach, Tricia "Sista Teedy" Boutte, Paul Longstreth, A-Ron Wilkinson, Bru Bruser, Sean Bradley, the Captain Midnight Band, Bass Heavy, Derrick Freeman, Dave Stover, Eric Lindell, and more. Tom continues to support the musical community in New Orleans and remains grateful to be a part of it._________________________________________________________ ______________________________________ ____________________________________________________________ ___________________________________
