Born in Tehran, Iran, Razmik was born into a large family. From a very young age, Razmik had a great talent for singing. As a child, he was often invited to sing on stage during family weddings.
As he grew up, he participated in many choirs including, the prestigious Araz Choir, conducted by Mr. Alek Bazikian which included many talented singers such as Ms. Armine Mardirosian. In total, Razmik spent 13 years singing in popular Tehran choirs.
Razmik was also selected as a singer by the Radio Iran radio station jurors but was unable to sing for the station because of location problems.
Razmik eventually started a family and moved to Germany where he joined the choir Gospelgruppe Frankfurt/Wernborn. During this time he benefited from a very flourishing and popular nationwide tour across the major cities of Germany.
Once again, Razmik and his family migrated, this time to the United States of America. Here he simultaneously sang at many different clubs and choirs as he had done before in Iran and Germany.
He became very popular in the night club scene, especially in America, because of his ability to sing in Armenian, Persian, and English. When it comes to his talent of singing in traditional folk, pop, and jazz, Razmik has always been compared to his idols and inspirations, popular Persian singer Aref and the Persian King of Pop, Vigen.
One of the most prestigious choirs Razmik sang for was the Kousan Choir of the Armenian Cultural Association (Hamazgayeen) under the direction of talented composer Ara Manash. During the 7 years that Razmik sang for the Kousan Choir, he received many awards of recognition from Mr. Manash for being an “outstanding talent†and for his “distinctive voice as a Baritone†and enjoyed great success.
Razmik now actively sings in the Armenian Society of Los Angeles choir, often singing solos and performing in concert with the choir, music of which is available above in the player.
Currently, Razmik sings in the Armenian Society of Los Angeles choir and also manages DJ Raz, his family’s DJing project which DJs for different occasions.
In addition to music, Razmik has always had a great interest in learning. In Tehran, Razmik earned a degree in mathematics from the prestigious Alborz High School. In the U.S., Razmik attended Glendale Community College and received an Electronics and Computer Repair Technician Associate degree. Even though Razmik wanted to continue on with his education, he couldn't leave his love of music behind and decided to continue on with it.
