About Me

With so many male MC's achieving multi-million dollar success in Hip-Hop, Ihave to ask Where My Ladies At? When Hip-Hop began it celebrated expression inevery form by everyone, especially the ladies. Artists like Roxanne Shante, MC Lyte,Queen Latifah, and Salt-N-Pepa innovated trends & introduced ideas to Hip-Hop in away that only a woman can. No one could replace the pride we feel when listeningto Queen Latifah's U.N.I.T.Y., no man could teach or explore female sexuality aswell as the Queen Bee, and when Lauryn Hill hit the scene, she taught femaleseverywhere that they can be sexy intellectuals. With all that power, it's hard tobelieve that those women didn't sustain their success in Hip-Hop or establish anempire of females MC's. It seems like we've replaced some of our greatestfemales rappers quicker than MTV replaces their VJ's. It's become a simple sciencefor every male dominated "squad" in the rap game to cling onto amarketable token "hood chic" that can spit. Terror Squad had Remy, Ruff Rydershad Eve, and both "The Firm" and Jay-Z had Foxy. So ladies, NOW is the time tobuild the reign of an all female Hip-Hop Empire! We've made it a FACT thatwe're a force to be reckoned with as well as necessary. There are so manydifferent facets of women growing/living in the hood it would be great to see usall represented. It's time to unite and support one another to gain the successthe men have been experiencing for years. So, how will you begin to reign?
