About Me

Born and raised in Colorado, I hope to continue in the tradition of the Colorado music scene. By a stroke of luck my father Frank performed at Red Rocks with his college choir in the early 60's. That was enough to motivate him to leave Texas and settle in Denver! Thank you Red Rocks!Music has been an in important activity in my family since the dawn of time. All of my siblings played at high levels of performance at some point in their lives. Now I embrace music as a lifestyle, a way of living that gives my life its ultimate meaning. I have been blessed with some amazing high points in my career that reaffirm that I'm on the right road.I studied with world class classical guitarist Masakuzo Ito at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado, and it opended my eyes to the world of disciplined playing with high expectations of performance. After graduation I was lucky enough to get a job as stage manager with jam masters Melvin Seals and the JGB band and also Merl Saunders! Traveling on the tour bus for extended periods of time gave me the opportunity to play in front of these masters. And eventually, I was invited onstage to play! Those performances changed my life, I saw my destiny unfolding in front of me. I've been pursuing my dream of being a performer ever since!More recently, some awesome Colorado bands have given me a great boost of confidence. Polytoxic, Oakhurst, Dan Walker and the Sky, Elephant Revival, White Water Ramble, Potcheen Folk Band, Lake Effect, and Tempa and the Tantrums are just a few of the regional bands I've been lucky enough to be involved with. My philosophy: sit in with as many different people as possible, it will only help you build relationships and diversify musical skills. My highest point: opening for Los Lobos at the Taos Solar Festival in front of 5000 people! Can all the gigs be like that please?
