Leaving, with regret,
Formal Defect

"At exactly 7:15, Sanctuary For The Fallen began. Mack Moriarty, a memeber of the band, was the host of this party- as it took place in his house. In a sense, they opened for the next band, Formal Defect. SFTF got the crowd hyped to a point of moshing right as Formal Defect took the stage. At this point, all Hell had broken loose in a portion of Mack's basement."

"Members take the stage. There were tom rolls. Many tom rolls. The very memory of the distortion, being turned up to what I fantasize as 10, will cause my ears to bleed for days. The sultry sounds of Rybak crooning for people to "seriously get up front" sent shivers down my spine. I prepared as a palpable energy shimmered in the air. The calm before the storm was deafening in its magnitude. And suddenly, she wrote some fucking paranoia and some power chords stampeded, top speed, into my unprepared and unwilling virgin face. My only regret of attending is that I can't coherantly review the rest of the performance, because my face was raped right the fuck off by a double guitar assault akin to bludgeoning a baby koala with bricks.
Bottom Line: If there's one band you see this year, make it this one. Formal Defect is like the first date who humps your bed to the floor and never answers your phone calls, but you end up thinking about her forever."
