IntonaBeat

IntonaBeat was originally born as a Hip Hop dancer in 1996, he was barely 12 at that time. His Contemporary Hip Hop Dance group was called "Da Cru" (part of the Company "Unity in Diversity" ) and it has been one of the most relevant Crew in Europe, bringing research and experimentation to the next level into the underground Hip Hop intellectual movement. IntonaBeat was one of the talented soloist of the company. Marisa Ragazzo and Omid Ighani has been his mentors and first inspirers of his own research into other artistic fields, especially Music. In 2002 IntonaBeat left the company to go through great experiences on his own. In 2002-2003, at the age of seventheen, he was the first italian high school student going to study in China for one year. He lived in Beijing as a common chinese boy with a common chinese family. Nowaday he still regards his chinese father, mother and little brother just like his real family in italy. Such great experience at this young age meant a very big change in his life. After that time he has been going back and forth within Europe, China and the US; studying or just living and breathing different cultures and exploring different values and ways of life. In 2004 he was enrolled at the Faculty of Political Science and International Relationships of the University of Florence. In 2005 he also studied Music at the Florence Music Academy - Jazz Department, discovering his outstanding singing skills with Maestro Franco Nesti. For the academic year 2006-2007 he has been awarded of the Chinese Government Scholarship in collaboration with Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and studied in the world-renowed University of Peking. During this year he’s been MUN Delegate at the American Model United Nation held in Harvard University (Historical General Assembly) and at the Asian Model United Nation held in Peking University (World Bank). Now he is getting his Bachelor Degree with a dissertation on Modern China. He’s still studying jazz music with Franco Nesti, and dance at the MC Hip Hop School with Marisa Ragazzo and Omid Ighani.PROJECTS: IntonaBeat is now involved in different projects which first aim is to create his "JL Studio" and the "JL Group". JL stands for "Jammin’ Loud", as well as the acronym of its real name. The JL Group is meant to be an international circle of artists bringing together talents and experiences from totally different cultures and disciplines.
