About Me

Here's an old school Royce Gracie fight I found. It's Royce, who is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu master, versus a Kung Fu competitor. Watch the clinic Royce puts on. Awesome.

I'm one of those guys that feels like he has a lot to do, a lot to say, and all the ability to do it. Not an in-your-face-kind of person, at least not all the time; I enjoy competing, teaching, helping people out, being the underdog and always striving to better myself. I'm a new husband, a new Daddy, and it feels so great I could pop. I get it now. I really do.
I have a competitive, never quit, don't take any prisoners kind of mentality when I engage myself or commit to something that I feel very deeply about. Learning, to me, is as great a tool as teaching and doing, because you can never know everything or be too humble to admit that.
Check out the poem below. Good stuff.
Invictus(Latin for unconquerable)
"Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.
It matter not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul."
- Ernest Henley
You scored as Idealist. Idealism centers around the belief that we are moving towards something greater. An odd mix of evolutionist and spiritualist, you see the divine within ourselves, waiting to emerge over time. Many religious traditions express how the divine spirit lost its identity, thus creating our world of turmoil, but in time it will find itself and all things will again become one.

San Antonio Marathon 2006: Post-Event Announcement

What a cold start we had this morning! Which I'll admit is better than last year's hot and humid crap. Well, the knee held together, the single loop course was better than last year's, and all-in-all...
