Conceptualization is deeply rooted underneath it all for June Rising. The meaning behind the music is inspired by the story, The Sons of June, written by the guitarist, Joshua Payette. The band started in the winter of 08' when vocalist Michael Daniels sat down with Joshua to throw some ideas back and forth. Both were frustrated at the time with their prior musical endeavors and set out to hand pick musicians who could act as compliments to their writing consensus.

Guitarist Jordan Parisi and drummer Joseph Dunne were gradual additions to the band though both are now key elements to the writing process. The goal of JR is to write intricate, but catchy, music that influences others. The concept that fuels the music, the story of the Sons of June, is just merely a creative way for the band to further their musical careers.
