Myspace..>WHERE HE’S FROM Born and raised in Brooklyn New York since 1988 raised in a area called Crown Heights Right in the middle of Brooklyn. He goes by the name of Young’N but his wonderful mother Winsome named him Dashawn Rufus after his father Shawn Rufus, who was never much around. He grew up on this block call Maple Street, Maple Street was a block where a lot of young kids grew up some years ago, during these times everybody love to go outside and this was one block that had a lot of talent. There where singers that would sing outside, dancers making up new steps, Kids flipping as if they were practicing for the Olympics, even fights broke out on this block, but The best one was the Rap Battles they had outside with other kids from other neighborhoods it use to be the most entertainment. Around the time he was 12 to 13 is when he found himself writing Raps, but since the age of only 10 he was writing R&B songs. The first R&B song was a remix to J-lo song “Love Don’t Cost A Thing”, ever since then he continue to write R&B songs and “Tried” to sing them on the phone to his ex girlfriends, truth be told he admits he never could sing (laugh).Once he turned 13 he was officially a rapper not only did he have a unique voice but he felt like this is where he need to be when he rapped compared to singing, Rapping made him express his thoughts much clearer. Why The Name Young’N? Why the name “Baby”, why the name “Babyface”, why the name “New Boyz”, exactly all of it are just names. The reason why this is a Topic because a lot of people ask him why Young’n? The name Young’N is something he came up with since the first time he created a flow, He named himself this name because he always found himself chilling with older people from a young age, and eventually they started to always call him Young’n because he was always the youngest around hanging out. Once he got a little older he did think about changing his name but he changed his mind because that’s like asking him to change his whole style, "I am who I am" . The name Young’n grew on him so much, sometimes he really might act like one (Laugh). Young’N is the name that describes him and how he looks at the world, its much deeper than just a name, To him everybody is a Young’N in this world from mothers, fathers, grandfathers, and grandmothers everybody is a Young’N in his eyes we are all here to learn new things, “discover new things, and also to hear about new things. With so much new things being done how can we as people be old? we are young because there’s some much more to be learned everyday either your at work, school or even in this music business it doesn’t matter we learn something new everday and if your not then your not doing your job”. What He Represent (TreeRap) Nobody can rap all they life and expect to still be one of the hottest Artist out, so you do what is called a retirement plan, something that might still deal with rapping, he knows he can’t do anything else that will keep him interested, it gives you a chance to work behind the scenes, everything thing that he showing the world is all for a good cause, and no he’s not aiming to be a one hit wonder, he doesn’t plan on leaving the game anytime soon. TreeRap is His Indie Label which he represents, it originated from where he’s from Maple Street in Brooklyn New York. This is where my whole family life started, my great grandmother lived there, my grandmother live there who passed away 13 years ago but once he got older he found out from his Uncle Craig That his grandmother use to work for Nickey Barnes one of the biggest drug dealers of all times, and now my mother lives where her two mothers lived. The name TreeRap means so much to me just from where it originated. Having a Indie Label shows growth in the artist, it shows that he loves what he do, the whole creation of creating music and that he wants to see himself expand.
