Influences: Crystal Lehakwe Tlali (22) was born in South Africa Wesselsbron and raised in a town called Qwaqwa, which is in a mountainous terrain of the Free State. She started officially singing when she was only three years old.
Whenever visitors came to her home, she was asked to sing for them. When she was nine, she
was taken by Sipho Mnyakeni to sing regularly at church which made gospel music become one of her most significant influence. One day the church invited a famous South African gospel singer Vicky Vilakazi (Joyous Celebration), who discovered her singing at church and took her to Johannesburg. In 2002 she became a member of the Grammy awarded “Soweto Gospel Choirâ€. While touring the world with the choir from 2003 to 2006 she had many major performances with other international artists like Bono, Beyonce, Peter Gabriel, Queen, Anastacia, Youssou N..Dour, Deborah Cox, Diana Ross and others…In 2007 she joined the South African group “African Mamasâ€, which is also touring internationally.
Meanwhile, Crystal is working on her own songs and records them with a German producer and international musicians and co-writers…
