About Me

Joey Bishop/Lead Vocalist/PercussionistJoey Bishop was born in Chicago, Illinois & started singing around the same time he began speaking at the age of 2 and had his first public performance when he was 7. Joey left his family at the age of 19 to go to Muscle Shoals, Alabama to sing & since then has never looked back. He had been performing in numerous touring acts across the Southeast & Mid West when he got a call from a band called Crystal Ace from Charlotte in 1993 & had the opportunity to open for national acts Ringo Starr, Return to Zero featuring Brad Delp of Boston, Firehouse, Kix & XYZ.After a 6 year stint in an original project called Hard Charlie, Joey & the band received radio airplay and achieved regional success touring as the support act with 38 Special, Ace Frehley & Eddie Money. It was after these accomplishments that Joey realized it was time for a switch in direction. He then received a call from an old drummer friend, Mark Hill, who wanted to put together something unique for this area. Our ideas & personalities clicked & SuperGlide was born. Since then SuperGlide have had the honor of sharing the stage with the band Chicago, The Doobie Brothers, The Little River Band, Rick Springfield, Starship featuring Mickey Thomas & many others just to name a few. Now the proud father of a 9 year old daughter the memories of me singing non-stop have come full circle. “There is absolutely nothing better than the feeling of making people happy & taking them away from whatever hardships they may be experiencing, it truly is what I live for”.Joey Bishop endorses Shure wireless microphones & Ultimate Ears inner ear monitor systems as well as Westone Inner ear buds. He also uses Rhythm Tech tambourines & percussion.
