eSmoke.htm.As horrid and grusome wars may be, they are necessary. A country or a people cannot advance without the assistance of war. War stimulates economies, mamking (war) a great reason to go to war. All wars have been fought over three basic things; money, religion, and resources; with the exception of the Trojan war if it is more than a myth.
Wars are necessary not only for the evolution of a country's economy, but the evolution and education of a country's people. Since all wars are fought for peace, it should be assumed that somewhere down the road, war will end and peace will endure. it is obvious that this won't happen in the near future, but as an optimist, it will happen at sometime in the future. Since man is capable of evolution, and capable of understanding new and better ideas, man will overcome the idea and concept of war. Though this idea may be hard to grasp at sometime in the close future.
Currently, there are a number of large wars, Country vs. Country, and smale scale wars, Country vs. Rebellion, Rebellion vs. Rebellion, Religion vs. Religion and so on that are being fought through the world. As ignorant as war is toward other human beings, it cannot be prevented at this point in time and it cannot be prevented of the war is "just". One just war that was fought along with many others is World War Two. Hitler and his Nazi Regime were killing millions of innocent civillians. THis is something that goes against the rules of war and should go against the rules of man. Collateral damage is something that should be avoided as much as possible. Since Hitler needed to be stopped and punished for his atrocities, the U.S. stepped in along with many other allies who fought with a general idea that they were "just" in what they were doing, as they were.
Almost all wars that have been fought Country vs. Country; popular support from the people has been gained by the government lying, or not telling the people something ( witholding the truth, which is lying). It happened in World War Two at Pearl Harbor. Though the military knew that a Japanese attack was imminent, there were no preperations that were done to protect the harbor. This helped persuade the people of the United States that they must enter the war immediately. First, becuase Hitler was doing terrible things to human beings and now an even better reason, the axis forces were attacking us.
I agree with the United States entering World War Two, though countless lives were lost, the world is a better place today because we went to war yesterday. This reinforces my statement that wars must be continued to be fought in order to reach a sustained level of peace in the future.
