growing up as a youth in east-side Charlotte N.C. I was introduced to many forms of music whether it be Punk,Alt,indie,Rap, etc, but no other form of music has grabbed my attention like Reggae. The first time I heard Reggae was when I was about 8 or 9 years old, the album was Sublimes self-titled album, I was completely blown away! From then on out Ive been a loyal Reggae fan, From the mellow Ska grooves of Sublime to the militant Roots tunes of Tosh and Marley to the punky Dub Reggae of The Clash I was hooked. I recieved my first guitar at the age of 9 from my aunt who had an old one in one of her closets. I started playing songs I heard on the radio by ear at the age of 10. At 16 years old I played rythm and lead guitar in a struggling Ska/Punk band, with mediocre direction and bad managing. At the age of 18 I left the band to do some solo work. I started with a tape recorder and my Yamaha acoustic, Now I upped the technology with a 4-track recorder and a Epiphone Les Paul Standard. Now at age 19 Ive grown wiser, and far more mature with my music. My music is for everybody to enjoy, I dont want to make any money off my music. I make music for the sheer love of music, plain and simple.Peace and LoveJosh Livingston ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------------------A genocide is happening and it's happening in Darfur. People are dying and for absolutely NO REASON. If you care, let the world know and do what you can. YOU DON'T have to fly to Africa, YOU DON'T have to donate millions of dollars, and YOU DON'T have to give up the life you have. It only takes a little to do a lot, so tell a friend, show support, or raise awareness: Start small. Start with yourself. Open you mind. Open you heart. Spread the word. Together we can make a change. SPREAD THE WORD!
