Well I love playing guitar and listening to music. If I get stressed or upset or whatever I just crank p the volume and space out to one of my favourite bands and relax. My music taste has been said to be ten years behind everyone else but in my opinion bands are becoming too alike and not experimenting enough so if anything sounds interesting I'll listen to it, no matter what era it's from. I would love to hear a band that tried to fuse jazz or latin music with metal because the results could be either terrible or fantastic. There are some genres of music i favour over others, for example i am not a particular fan of emo music and prefer classic or progressive rock which sounds pretentious but I appreciate musicianship over screaming and crying over a girlfriend. In fact I just love music and want to absorb as much of it as possible. Listening to music has to be an experience or a journey and not just to pass the time. However I always say each to his/her own. (psst I also love cheesey eighties hair metal, but don't tell anyone)
Apart from my obvious love of music I am also a great admirer of films, not only watching them but making them as well with my friends. I have an almost encyclopedic knowledge of movie trivia having read alot of books on film and watched more than i can count. From blockbusters to foreign and indie films I don't discriminate. If i come out of the cinema feeling challenged then it is all the more pleasing. The film has to succeed in what it sets out to do, so if i watch a comedy and don't laugh it's a shit film and vice a versa.
