About Me

By my own admonition, I'm 42 going on 18 (and my kids are 8 and 10 going on 42 - how did that work out???). I have been collecting the works of Tolkien for over 30 years and have probably waaaaaaaay too much. However, I am lucky that my husband likes it too.I have been married 18 years to the same man and have no plans to change my status. I have two wonderful, gorgeous (and they know it) children who are the apple of my eye. I have a job that I am happy to wake up to go to every day. The two best friends that a person could ask for in Becke and Mandi. I enjoy my life and the people in it. What more can one ask for???Okay - here are a couple of things. 1 - A trip to New Zealand to visit the sheep farms that were Hobbiton for LOTR movies. 2 - A visit to the Wellington to visit the production sites for the LOTR movies. 3 - The ability to buy a "Winter" house, free time-share, in New Zealand 4 - The entire cast of said LOTR movies to have annual parties at my "Winter" house. 5 - The ability to shed 40 pounds at will, without having to exercise or diet. 6 - To be independently wealthy (but I would still come to work because I love my job so much). 7- Not have to pay taxes in perpetuity 8 - Not have to pay for free coverage, all inclusive, medical insurance 9 - The end to world hunger 10- The increase of the IQ level in DMV and Postal workers 11 - ..........

My Interests

Right now - I'm completely into Texas Hold'Em poker (and not too shabby if I don't say so myself). I have managed to turn a modest profit at the small cash tables I play at. However, it will be a long road to the WSOP until I win the lottery to-boot. When life permits, I enjoy going to movies, reading, cooking and crafts. I'm a council member for my son's cub scout pack and my daughter is invovled in Girl Scouts. I sing for my husband's choir when I can.

I'd like to meet:

I've met a lot of real interesting people over my lifetime (ask me about Tom Cruise at the Riverside International Raceway sometime). Also - everyday people can be very interesting also.Daniel Negreanu, Tom Lederer and Annie Duke. There are several people from the past that I would have loved to meet. . . . . Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Freud, Einstein, Anne Frank, Benjamin Franklin, Carl Sagan, W.A. Mozart are the first ones to come to mind.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/Raidr/LJcrap/bor omir1.gif

Movies:

I think that it would be a no brainer to list LOTR. AUGUST RUSH!!!! I also like film noir Bogie and Bacall, MGM Musicals and Monty Python. Some of my favorite all time movies include, Shadowlands, the remake of The Razor's Edge with Bill Murray; who doesn't like Beaches (even though it's a cry fest)?; Rex Harrison's The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, the Rocky Horror Picture Show. . . . . . MOVIES THAT ARE A WASTE OF CELLULOID are The Abyss, The Relic, The Piano.

Television:

Okay - I haven't been able to watch a lot of television lately - but the following are shows that I used to watch. The Man from Atlantis (Patrick Duffy in those yellow speedos - 12 yr old girl could never get enough of that), Quincy, CSI-Las Vegas, House, Scrubs, Frasier

Books:

Again - no brainier, LOTR (however, the Two Towers is my fav)and others written by Tolkien (my bookshelves overflow). Dear and Glorious Physician by Taylor Caldwell, Watchers by Dean R. Koontz (like a lot of Koontz), Stephen King, John Nance, The Belgariad and The Guardians of the West by David and Leigh Eddings, Dragon Riders of Pern, Chronicles of Amber, books by Raymond Feist, Stephen R. Donaldson . . . . . .

Heroes:

Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee

Why is it that people buy and pay for cell phones - but they never have them with them, or they have them turned off?  I understand turning them off in a church service - or not answering when yo...
