About Me

Say what you will, say what you mean, no, you could never offend, your dirty words come out clean
Right I've had my feeling sorry for myself phase and thats over and done with =]
This year is proving to be the hardest year of my life, but I cant wait until what will happen when its all over. I have so much stuff Im looking forward to you wouldn't believe it, but thank god really, otherwise I wouldn't have anything to aim towards.
My mood changes more than a Eurovision song contest presenter, so watch out!

Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy
Not too long ago I got diagnosed with JME, I keep having to explain what that means time after time so I'm gonna stick it on here....hopefully that will stop me sounding like a broken record!
I'd been having these little jerks (only in the morning after having woken up), kind of like when you sneeze, or when you fall asleep then suddenly wake up. I didn't think of them as being anything major at all, until one morning I had a seizure, went to hospital and found out they were pretty major. After having had a CT scan, and an EEG I've been told I do have epilepsy.
Things which trigger my seizures off are too much alcohol (as in getting REALLY drunk), sleep deprivation, stress and extreme emotion in some cases.
I am not photosensitive, which means strobe lighting or flashing images have no effect on me at all.
I've only ever had two seizures, both of which occurred in the morning - so it's unlikely you'll ever see me having one. Having said that, if I ever do have a seizure theres nothing much to do except let me get on with it, dont put anything in my mouth (people used to say put a spoon in or your finger - it would probably get bitten off)and afterwards when I gain conciousness tell me whats happened. If a seizure lasts more than 5 minutes, or I have more than one in a row; call an ambulance
I'm now on medication to try and stop my attacks, which have certain crap side effects, but nothing too bad.
Having this shouldn't affect my life that much, I'll just have to watch things a bit. I can't drive until I'm a year seizure free, and swimming alone, or climbing ladders is stuff I can't really do. Other than that I'll be carrying life on as I did before.
If anybody has anything they ever want to ask me about it, please don't think I'll be offended, it really doesn't bother me talking about it at all!
