Houseproud at The Greyhound TraleeHOUSEPROUD is an emerging club night in Kerry with an emphasis on showcasing quality house/dance music and attracting guesting national and hopefully international house DJs on a 'regular' basis.Previously based in the Crypt, now residing at the bigger more expansive Warehouse venue in Killarney, Houseproud is intent on furthering and growing its reputation. Houseproud's next big event takes place in Tralee at the Greyhound on Bank Holiday Sun Aug 3rd. Expect over 10 DJs as part of an 11-hour plus event.Previous guests: Stereotonic's and Electric Picnic's CONOR L.Deep House maestros Greg Dowling and Shane Johnson, aka FISHGODEEP, the duo behind international hit 'The Cure, The Cause' with Tracey K, guested to a rapturous reception in February '08.TAYOR of top Dublin based DJ collective BODYTONIC SOUND SYSTEM done his bit (and more) on the 7th of March and the inimitable RAYMOND FRANKLYN (The Savoy,Cork) guested on Mar 28th.....Waterford City Republik DJs KENNO and PAUL MAC from the Loft Sessions played in the Warehouse for Houseproud in April.Further details and future dates around the corner.Houseproud have announced the lineup for a mammoth all day dance party in the Greyhound Bar (side venue) in Tralee on Bank Holiday Sunday Aug 3rd. Over 10 of the South West's finest House and Techno DJs gather for the 12- hour event with Spin FM DJ Dan Sykes (Vivamusic, Limerick) headlining alongside the likes of CJ Fitz (Technicolor, IDJ Raw Talent, Transmission) and Stacky (Janus, Newport Cafe Cork). On the bulging bill will be spinners including Richie Allen from Cork who was the recent winner of the prestigious UCC DJ Championship. Other notable DJs are Fergus Carton (Spinwax), Kevin O'Shea (Electronic Ireland, Technicolor, Transmission), Steve O'Mahony, Dane O D (Womb, Killarney), Sean O'Brien (Know Techno) and Houseproud's Ger Hallissey and Joe Connor.Dan Sykes presents Component on Spin South West every Saturday night, a 4 hour dance show featuring cutting edge labels, underground house tunes and a mixed bag of deep and minimal techno. He has guested at Techfest, Hi Fi, Planet Love, Acii Disco, Electric Picnic and was part of the Trinity Rooms Ibiza Tour 06. Currently, Dan runs Viva in the Trinity Rooms Limerick and is resident for Micronite and Strutt in the city. With a Diploma in Music Construction and Production under his belt, Sykes is well versed in the business of rocking a club.
