Nahimana( loves her espresso)

Nahimana- Sioux name meaning "Mystic"My real name is whatever you want it 2 b( some of y'all actually know me but you just don't know it, for now, I am doing this somewhat anonymously)...I was born under the earth sign Taurus( April 26th, a proud Bull ), and I started this page at the behest of a few people who have been "nagging me" ( in a good way) to share my abilities with more people..And it was about time I did so. I am a very mixed blood Native American lady (with plenty of Western and Eastern European heritage as well). And this is why I choose my "alias" to be of origin from an extension of my Native ancestry, though my indigenous heritage is not limited to Sioux origin. If you ask me who my biggest influences are, my list will go on for days, but Prince and Mint Condition are at the top..I have written poetic interpretations of Prince songs AND Mint songs in recent months..I have been writing poetry since I was about 9 or 10, and I am going on 26 now. It was not until about 2 1/2 years ago that I realized I had any chance at all to actually be successful at it but I have been hearing a lot of praise lately, so who knows...In 2004 I developed a seizure disorder as the result of a near-fatal electrolyte imbalance, and I credit my experiences with that for the fact that my writings have improved drastically. From time to time, I do write lyrics though but it has been awhile. I am looking to revisit that. It doesn't come as easily to me as writing poetry but we'll see.I am also a vocalist, I have been doing vocal training for years now. Over the past few years, I have been working on expanding my musical abilities to include percussion and in the future, everything else I can get my hands on. I am hoping in the next several years of my life to be able to do my poetry thing and my music thing full-time, though at this particular point of my life, my focus is on my writing.This site is in its early stages, so bear with me:) I will get more poetry and some tracks up ASAP.
