I'm a ray of fucking sunshine, ok?

About Me

Most people think I look a decade younger than I am.
My entire life centers around my daughter. She's seriously cooler than you and anyone you know.Starting to work towards figuring out how the hell to be a writer. I almost have the writing part down.

I also have a wonderful husband who cooks the best meat in the whole of NYC, and he's cute to boot. Oh, and two crazy cats who I love more than most people.

Sometimes I'm brave, sometimes I'm terrified. You can tell what I'm feeling by the look on my face. I'm not afraid to stick up for myself. I've been bruised and battered by a lot of things in my life so I'm not cool with feeling helpless.

I blog over here: What's Your Name, Mommy?

I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

My Interests

Hanging out with my daughter, decorating my house, cleaning my house, reading, watching too much baseball. Forcing myself to write, fits of pique, petulance, belly-laughing and shaking my head at stupidity. Arsenal!

I'd like to meet:

Music that doesn't suck. People I've lost track of over the years. Random friends requests are ignored, sorry. Unless you are a truly remarkable human being, and lord knows those are few and far between.
To borrow a very apt phrase, I am not collecting people on here. Most of my list is comprised of people I've met outside of the intardnet and bands. Yes, if you are band I will probably add you unless you are super far removed from my musical interests. If I can't figure out why you're asking to add me or if your list is comprised entirely of scantily-clad women, I will not add you.

If you're thinking perhaps I might want to date/screw/appear on cam with you, you are seriously delusional. I am blissfully MARRIED to the most wonderful man in the world.

Music:

Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Pogues, In The Nursery, Smiths, Luna, Air, Badly Drawn Boy, Clash, Cramps, Psychedelic Furs, Fugazi, Dead Kennedys, Alice Donut, Hank WIlliams Sr. and III, Lyle Lovett, Lucinda Williams, Johnny Cash, Mr. T Experience, Dead Milkmen, Dead Can Dance, Carla Bruni, Petula Clark, Sinatra and Dino, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Concrete Blonde, X, Sanseverino, Kurtis Blow, Patti Smith, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Carl Perkins, Depeche Mode, Violent Femmes, New Order, Joy Division, Specimen, Flesh for Lulu, Gene Loves Jezebel, Replacements, Slackdaddy, Velvet Underground, L7, Bikini Kill, The Kinks, Bowie, Sinead O'Connor, Op Ivy, Gang of Four, Sisters of Mercy, Frontline Assembly, Skinny Puppy, Misfits, De La Soul, Black Sheep, The D.O.C., The Church, The Cure, Stray Cats, Social Distortion, Deadbolt, Link Wray

Movies:

Old Hollywood musicals, any Jean Cocteau films, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Persona, Philadelphia Story, The Princess Bride, Dead Man, Desperado.

Television:

Baseball and EPL football. I will watch any sort of countdown show. Seriously, they could count down the top 100 filibusters of all time and I'd watch the whole damn thing.

Books:

Howsabout authors instead?
Margaret Atwood, Jeannette Winterson, Michael Chabon, Arturo Perez Reverte, Joyce, Plath, Kierkegaard, anything about the Easter Rebellion. Actually, I'll read just about anything.

Currently sighing heavily every time I look at the stack of writing books on my nightstand.

Heroes:

Chastity the Vampire Assassin. Oh seriously? I dunno, I guess my mom and grandmom. And Margaret Atwood. Moe Tucker, Johnette Napolitano, Exene Cervenka.
I'm totally in love with Jean Cocteau.

Relegation Blues

I find it remarkable, nay, amazing that under our very roof we have not one, not, two, but three jerseys from relegated Italian teams. To be fair, we acquired them 4 years ago.  Nonetheless, Juv...

God Bless The World Cup!

Just the other day I was able to tell my daughter, whilst climbing around her cousin, to take care not to Rooney his Carvalhos.  Fantastic stuff. I have nothing to say about the England game.&nb...

apologies to those who read this from a non-footie POV

Today was harsh.  The beloved England was less than.  Sweden was stymied by The Trinis, and Cote d'Ivoire was downright ill done by. Ingerlund...I can't even deal with the disappointment.&n...
