Russ Be-Bop and the Roadrunners are a Rockabilly/Blues trio from the north of england lancashire to be exact.They have recorded 4 pieces of vinyl and 6 cd albums over a period of 10 years and have appeared on numerous compilation cd`s many of which have become deleted and very sort after .They are classed as a cult rockabilly band due to their rare wild gig performances.Many rockin` promoters have difficulty labelling the band and are scared shitless to even book them at times.They have toured most of europe with their wild infectious style of wild rockin` sounds to many pleasing crowds.Most of the roadrunners sound is very raw and stripped down rockabilly and will only record this way if given the choice.A real favourite place for them to record is the riverside studios owned by chris cummings, a little known studio in blackpool,lancs.Which is filled with wonderful vintage valve equipment like an ole` reel to reel 8 track and pure vintage sure mics.This equipment seems to have captured the roadrunners at their best.But make no mistake these guys are far from authentic and laid back when they hit the stage,they play real loud with piercing guitar leads and screaming vocals and create some wild energy whilst performing. Many 1950`s blues artists have influenced the band over the years and are always seeking new tracks from the vaults to cover- adding their own attitude to the track and almost making it their own.
