Following the demise of legendary Pub Rock combo Kilburn & The Highroads in '76, guitarist/vocalist Nick Cash, aware of the new highly charged outfits causing a storm on the London pub circuit, formed 999 along withe guitarist Guy Days, bassist Jon Watson and drummer Pablo Labritain. A series of energetic gigs at London clubs like The Red Cow. The Nashvile and the Bortex led to 999 picking up a sizeable following, nick-named "The Crew" as they established themselves at the forefront of the newly christened Punk Rock movement.
