About Me

Custom top banner code by Eileen End Code To Apply Top BannerBorn in Bolivia the artist known as MAXIMO, was brought to the United States by his supporting mother while sacrificing her own career as a nurse. As most Latino families seek in coming to America, Mrs. Cespedes’ intent and goal was to provide a better life and prosperous future for her son and her family. Having lived in CA for only 3 years, Houston, Texas would now become MAXIMO’S new and permanent home.“I’ve always loved music,” says MAXIMO, “I remember at the age of 6 asking my mother how music was written, because I wanted to learn how to do it for myself.” His family always knew about his love for music especially when he played drums on his mother’s pots and pans. With his ability to write lyrics and his annunciation when delivering those lyrics, MAXIMO captivates the attention of people nationwide with his unique and awakening style. Whether it’s a laid back beat or a poppin’ track, his flow is simply incomparable! MAXIMO strives to hit his lyrics hard and always be in the pocket!Inspired by the group Sandy y Papo, MAXIMO’S interest for music grew stronger as he was captured by and listened to groups such as Fulanito, Proyecto Uno, Big Pun and Scarface, focusing on Rap and Latin Hip Hop more than any other genre.By the year of 1998, at the young age of 15, MAXIMO had already recorded 3 underground mix tapes. MAXIMO was ready to take his music career to another level by joining a local group named Maeztria, created by DJ Masta Shadow. By joining this group, not only did it open doors for the Artist MAXIMO, but for the group members as well. Without delay, Maeztria was performing as an opening act for now famous Artists, Daddy Yankee and Ivy Queen. After hearing Maeztria and viewing a live performance, DJ X-Ray approached MAXIMO, whom now would be working along side him in molding MAXIMO into the solo Artist he is today.“I started grabbing people’s attention by doing remixes in Spanish of songs that were current and “hot” at the moment, and many of them found their way to securing radio rotation,” says MAXIMO. One of the first songs MAXIMO remixed in Spanish was 50 Cent’s “Disco Inferno”, which was played on Mega 101 in Houston. Soon thereafter, MAXIMO independently dropped a mix tape titled, Pa La Calle, selling over 2,500 pieces solely out of his trunk, in the course of only two months! “It wasn’t much, but for me it was great!” says MAXIMO. “Coming from nothing, I was everywhere with those CDs!”MAXIMO was now in the groove of things, re-recording and remixing Akon’s “Lonely” in complete Spanish, which played in Phoenix Arizona’s, Club 95! What really put MAXIMO on the map was the one and only remix of Sean Paul’s “Temperature”. MAXIMO’s “Temperature Remix” acquired heavy rotation nationwide from Dallas all the way down to Miami, back to LA and across the nation to the Windy City, Chicago and right back up to New York City!By having heavy rotation in major markets, MAXIMO was gaining popularity in becoming an opening act as a solo Artist for Aventura, Khriz y Angel, Ivy Queen and Adassa just to name a few.Soon MAXIMO grabbed the attention of Indie Label, Cutting Records based in New York City. Cutting Records purchased 3 songs from MAXIMO along with financing a video for the song entitled “Ven Aqui”. Due to irreconcilable differences and being unable to come to a favorable agreement, MAXIMO decided to continue on his own as an independent Artist. With great knowledge of the music business and extraordinary talent, MAXIMO maintains a huge fan base and continues in writing his own lyrics and producing his own music. He performs live in concerts with big named acts such as Toby Love, Rakim & Ken Y and Pitbull along with performing for promotional and charity events, as recent as the latter half of 2007. MAXIMO is currently a featured artist who wrote lyrics and co-composed a track with film composer, Edwin Wendler for a Unique New Drama Series, The Interior, created by Geert Heetebrij and Helmut Schleppi. This was the same writing - directing team of the feature film, A Foreign Affair, a.k.a. DVD title, 2 Brothers and a Bride. The title track is “Escapa” and is featured in Episode 12 of The Interior. MAXIMO is constantly pounding the pavement self-promoting and marketing his music and his trademarked MAXIMO merchandise. MAXIMO is a unique and exceptional individual. Not only is he a rapper, and a singer but also a lyricist, writer, producer and co-composer. He continues to sell his Pa La Calle 2 Remix CD, in the hopes of welcoming a major record deal so that his God given ability, hard work and passion for his music, can be shared with the world!
