No Honor Lost was formed in January 2006 by Landon Ramsey and Justin Lewis after the split of their old band, Under Crimson Skies. Both heavily influenced by old school punk and hardcore, they decided to start a band that reflected the sounds, ideals and community that were associated with the early styles of these types of music. Daniel Rodriguez was brought in on bass and original UCS drummer Josh Hollifield came in on drums. This lineup recorded a 4 song demo and began to gather a small but loyal local following.
After about 8 months or so Daniel stepped down and Thomas Burnett, formerly of Spill the Blood, took over on bass. With a new bass player, the group went into the studio in the summer of 07 and recorded a full-length, entitled New World Horror. During this time the group started to branch out into the regional punk scene and made their prescence known.
In early 2008, after 5 years of playing with Josh and Landon, Justin stepped down from the vocalist position. Tryouts began immediately and the band received many great responses. The decision was a hard one but NHL finally decided to try a dual-vocal approach and Tyler and Andrew, formerly of the Avoiders, were given the vocal slot.
NHL's sound has been described as "old-school hardcore punk in the vein of Poison Idea, which means hardcore before it became thrash" (Chris Peigler, www.stillnotdead.com...go there NOW), and the band has also had their sound associated with acts such as old Agnostic Front, Hoods, Pennywise and H20. While the group appreciates comparison and gives respect to the bands that came before, they hope to carve out their own path and get their message across.
NHL is what you would consider a DIY band. The group respects the hell out of what Ian McKaye and Minor Threat did for the landscape of music in this area, but are far from straight edge. Songs such as Soda Popinski reflect the band's love of hanging with friends and drinking beer. Other songs, such as New World Horror, address the growing power and corruption of the US government and the complacency of their beloved working class.

NO HONOR LOST- New World Horror cd www.myspace.com/nohonorlost Okay this CD has a perfect beginning, It’s a Little speech of mister G.G Allin and that is pretty cool and a good way to start out with rock n roll style. No Honor Lost is from North Carolina and has played together since 2006. They play fast hardcore/punk and they actually do it very well, a lot of different bands come to mind when I spin this cd, I guess they sound a little like pennywise but harder and way more pissed off, and also Agnostic Front..s older stuff pops up in my head. They mix the hard and fast typical hardcore stuff with breakdowns every now and then and it has a very punkrock edge, if Drain Bramaged, Agnostic Front, Hoods and Pennywise partied together it might sound like these guys. Songs about Beer, The Government and such is mostly what I’ve noticed while rocking “ New World Horror†There is also a Chris Farley soundclip and that is Fucking awesome if you ask me, that guy was the coolest. But all in all this is a very good DIY hardcore/punk record and if you like any of the bands that I have mentioned before, then check this out and give it a listen on their myspace page. I Hope to hear more from these guys soon, great stuff!-matti-
NEOZINE CD REVIEW OF NEW WORLD HORROR
"The true spirit of hardcore and punk rock music is still alive in the deep dark crevices of the underground, howling away at the offensiveness of pop-punk and mall-punk that is assailing our ears and posing as teen rebellion to replace anarky with consumerism . No Honor Lost seems to me to have that true spirit. They not only make some damn fine non-label music, but they make music with a message and with an anger that just seems real to me. I've lived through it all, and I'd like to think that I'm pretty good at spotting the genuine article, so here it is...No Honor Lost is the real deal. They flirt with sounds ranging from oldschool 77 to grind-ish-ness, but to me it is back alley hardcore, best on a sweaty small stage (or even better at floor level with the speakers right in your face.) This is the music that you club and clobber your friends to in a pit that makes the establishment owners just a little nervous. Hell, this is the kind of music that you go to see because your friends are in the band, and they write about the same shit you gripe about daily. I love a good HC drinking song - and the song "Soda Popinski" does the trick just fine. Listening to this is like getting some life back in the brain after a long day of zombie slave wage earning."
